Kristy Swanson is an American film actress and model born in California on December 19th, 1969. Her first role in the horror genre was the 1986 made-for-TV family film Mr. Boogedy where she played a character named Jennifer Davis. In 1991, she appeared in the adventure comedy Highway to Hell as Rachel Clark. Kristy's best-known role however came a year later when she played the titular hero Buffy in the Joss Whedon film Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Although the movie was a commercial bomb, Joss Whedon re-imagined it as a television series, which became extremely popular. Swanson however, did not play Buffy in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series. Instead, the role went to Sarah Michelle Gellar who immortalized the character for the next seven years.
