Kim Obrist was a supporting character featured in the Scanners film franchise. Played by actress Jennifer O'Neill, she was introduced in the first installment of the series, the 1981 sci-fi film Scanners. Kim Obrist was a "scanner", a human gifted with intense telepathic and telekinetic abilities. Kim befriended a derleict scanner named Cameron Vale and taught him how to quiet the voices in his head by way of meditative discipline. [2]
