Kaleen Webber is a fictional news reporter & murder victim and a minor character featured in the Wrong Turn film series. Played by actress Emilia Klayn, she appeared in the 2012 sequel film Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines.

Biography[]

Kaleen Webber was a news journalist operating out of West Virginia. In October of 2003, she was covering the annual Mountain Man Festival in the town of Fairlake in Greenbrier County. After smiling through a puff-piece live newsfeed, she immediately expressed her frustration as soon as the camera was off of her, dismissing in disgust the site of a nose-picking kid right next to her. She told her cameraman that she was taking a run.

Changing into a yellow jogging suit, Kaleen began running through the back wooded area surrounding the town. She was accosted by three deformed inbred mutants known as Three Finger, One Eye, and Saw Tooth. Initially, Kaleen dismissed them as festival goers dressing up in cosplay and gave Three Finger the middle finger. Three Finger produced a large hunting knife and cut Kaleen's finger off.

Now realizing that the threat to her life was real, she shrieked in pain and horror and began running. She ran into the arms of an older man named Maynard Odets. Maynard pretended to offer assistance, but in truth, he was a father figure to the three mutants. Maynard used an axe and hacked Kaleen in the middle of the abdomen, killing her. He then hacked off her un-injured hand with the axe.

The character of Kaleen Webber was created by writer and director Declan O'Brien based on concepts originally developed by Alan McElroy.
In the film's closing credits, the character is identified only as Kaleen. Her surname is presented in the film itself.
Kaleen Webber is the first of ten confirmed murder victims featured in Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines. She is the first of three female victims, and the first of two characters killed by Maynard Odets. She is the only character that is directly killed by Maynard, though he is indirectly responsible for the death of Angela Carter as well.
As Kaleen Webber is a local news reporter, it is fair to assume that she is resident of West Virginia, perhaps even of Greenbrier County. However, it is unknown if she is a resident of the town of Fairlake.
The scene of Kaleen's severed hand with five fingers extended made up the number five in the film's title card sequence.
Playing the role of Kaleen Webber is actress Emilia Klayn's third work in a horror film. Previously she played a character named Laura in Rage of the Yeti in 2011. She then played a nurse in Boogeyman in 2005.
