Ju-on 2 (呪怨2) is a Japanese horror film of the ghost/haunted house subgenre. It is the second installment in the ongoing Ju-on film series and recaps the events from the first film Ju-on (also referred to as Ju-on: The Curse). The film was written and directed by Takashi Shimizu and produced by the Toei Video Company. It premiered in Japan on March 25th, 2000. The movie is presented as five short vignettes, all of which tie in with the first story. Like the previous film, Ju-on two chronicles the story of a revenge-driven Onryō, or spirit, named Kayako Saeki who suffered a violent death and whose ghost haunts the house in which she died. The film stars Yûrei Yanagi as school teacher Shunsuke Kobayashi, Takako Fuji as vengeful spirit Kayako Saeki, Ryôta Koyama as her orphaned brother Toshio Saeki and Takashi Matsuyama as the deranged Takeo Saeki.
