John T. Neville was an American screenplay writer born in Harrisonville, Missouri on December 29th, 1886. Having made a sizeable career writing scripts for western films during the silent film era, John made his genre debut with the 1940 film The Devil Bat starring Bela Lugosi. The Devil Bat was semi-remade in 1946 under the title The Flying Serpent. Neville wrote the screenplay for this film as well. It was his final professional film work. John Neville passed away at the age of 83 in Los Angeles, California on October 25th, 1970.
