John Phillips was a British film and television actor. He was born in Birmingham in the West Midlands of England on July 20th, 1914. His first work in the horror genre was playing the role of Sergeant-Major Morris in the television adaptation of The Monkey's Paw in 1954. In 1960, he played General Leighton in the Wolf Rilla film Village of the Damned. He then went on to play entitled entrepreneur Stanley Preston in The Mummy's Shroud in 1967. John Phillips passed away in Oswestry in Shropshire, England on May 11th, 1995 at the age of 80.
