Jeanne d'Alcy was a French silent film actress and the wife of director Georges Méliès. She was born in Vaujours, Seine-Saint-denis, France on March 20th, 1865 and died in Versailles, Yvelines on October 14th, 1956 at the ripe ole' age of 91. Jeanne has the distinction of being what is arguably the first actress ever featured in a horror film. She appeared as a witch in the 1896 silent short Le Manoir du diable.
