Jason X is an American feature film of the horror and science fiction genres. It is the tenth installment in the original Friday the 13th film series and follows the 1993 movie Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (albeit by several centuries). It is the eighth movie in the franchise to feature Jason Voorhees as the primary antagonist and is the second movie in the series to not have "Friday the 13th" as part of its title. The movie was directed by James Isaac with a screenplay written by Todd Farmer. The movie was produced by Crystal Lake Entertainment and New Line Cinema and released theatrically in the United States on April 26th, 2002.

  • Production on Jason X began on March 6th, 2000. Principal photography concluded on April 30th. It was filmed on-set in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
  • Jason X closed out of theaters on May 30th, 2002.
  • Jason X was released to DVD in "Platinum Edition" format on June 1st, 2004 by New Line Home Video. It was released in VHS format on February 3rd, 2004. The film is also included as part of the Jason Slasher Collection, along with Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday and Freddy vs. Jason.
  • This film was adapted into the official Jason X novelization, which was written by Pat Cadigan and published by Black Flame. It was released in paperback format on January 25th, 2005.
  • Actresses Lexa Doig and Lisa Ryder are both regular cast members on the Gene Roddenberry sci-fi series Andromeda. Their roles in Jason X are reversals of their roles on Andromeda as Lexa Doig is an android on Andromeda and human in Jason X while Lisa Ryder is a human in Andromeda but an android in Jason X.
  • Director James Isaac makes an uncredited cameo appearance as a doctor in this film.
  • Screenwriter Todd Farmer makes a small appearance in the film as Dallas, one of the E-X grunts.
  • Actor/director David Cronenberg makes a guest appearance in the film as Doctor Wimmer. Cronenberg is also known for directing the 1981 "exploding head trauma" film Scanners as well as the 1986 remake of The Fly.
