It Stains the Sands Red is an independent American feature film of the zombie survival horror genre. It was written and directed by Colin Minihan and co-written by Stuart Ortiz. It was produced by Digital Interference Productions and Grasswood Media and was first screened at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain on October 8th, 2016. It was screened at the Glasgow Fright Fest in the United Kingdom on February 24th, 2017. It premiered in the United States at the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 20th, 2017. It opened to limited theatrical release in the U.S. on July 28th, 2017. The film stars Brittany Allen as Molly - a woman who finds herself stranded in the middle of the hot Nevada desert, after a zombie murders her boyfriend, Nick. Battling hunger, exposure and exhaustion, Molly must trudge across the desert in the hopes of reaching an airfield as the zombie continues to pursue her.
