Burkittsville
Burkittsville, Indiana is a small town where the townspeople worshipped a pagan god of the harvest - an ancient totem of the Vanir represented as a scarecrow placed in an apple orchard. By sacrificing two human victims (a man and a woman) on the second week of April each year, the people of Burkittsville were promised a good harvest. Please visit, but I wouldn't go in couples, because if you get lost... you may be sacrificed to the dark scarecrow's spirit. [1]
