Hollywood is a district in the city of Los Angeles in Los Angeles County, California, situated west-northwest of Downtown Los Angeles. Due to its fame and cultural identity as the historical center of movie studios and movie stars, the word "Hollywood" is often used as a metonymy of American cinema. The nickname "Tinseltown" refers to the glittering, superficial nature of Hollywood and the movie industry at large.

In addition to being home to some major movie studios such as Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios and New Line Cinema, Hollywood has also played a meager role in the foundation of certain horror film storylines. Film director Wes Craven has inserted fictionalized accounts of his life into the Hollywood jet set including a key role in the 1994 slasher film, New Nightmare and a minor scene from the movie Scream 3 in 2000.

Points of Interest[]

Plummer Park
Plummer Park is a public park located in West Hollywood. On the TV series Angel, Charles Gunn and Fred Burkle were staking out an area of the park while investigating an alleged philanderer named Jerry. They used the time to their advantage and began making out. They had to stop however, when their target went missing, only to learn that he had been abducted by a life-leeching tree demon.
