It is the second installment in the original Silent Night, Deadly Night film series. It was directed by Lee Harry with a screenplay written by Harry and Joseph H. Earle based on a story treatment developed by Harry, Earle, Dennis Patterson and Lawrence Appelbaum. It was produced by the Silent Night Releasing Corporation and released theatrically in the United States on April 10th, 1987. The film stars Eric Freeman as Ricky Caldwell - brother of the late Billy Caldwell, who breaks out of a mental institution to take up his deceased sibling's calling in punishing those that he deems to be "naughty". It is a low-budget "grindhouse" film that since developed a strong cult following amongst horror fans. The movie was directed by Charles E. Sellier, Jr. with a script written by Michael Hickey based on a story treatment by Paul Caimi. The movie had a limited theatrical release and premiered in the United States on November 9th, 1984. The movie deals with a disturbed young man named Billy Caldwell, who grows up in an orphanage after witnessing his parents' murder at the hands of an evil Santa Claus. Now an adult, Billy dons his own red suit and seeks out those who make his "naughty" list. Featured characterRichard "Ricky" Caldwell is a fictional serial killer and a primary antagonist featured in the Silent Night, Deadly Night film series. He first appeared in the inaugural installment of the series Silent Night, Deadly Night in 1984 and first appeared as an infant, played by an unknown actor. Actor Max Broadhead played Ricky at age four in the film, and Alex Burton played him as a 14-year-old. In Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2, actor Eric Freeman played adult Ricky with Brian Michael Henley as 10-year-old Ricky and Darrel Guilbeau as 15-year-old Ricky in flashback scenes.
