Haunted Mansion is an American feature film of the comedy and haunted house thriller subgenres of horror. It is based on "The Haunted Mansion" theme park attraction located at Disneyland in California and the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida. It is the second of such films based on the attraction, the first being the 2003 Eddie Murphy vehicle directed by Rob Minkoff. The modern take on the concept was directed by Justin Simien with a screenplay written by Katie Dippold. It was produced by Walt Disney Productions and Rideback and premiered at Disneyland on July 15th, 2023. It opened to nationwide release in the United States on July 28th, 2023. The movie stars LaKeith Stanfield as Ben Matthias, Rosario Dawson as Gabbie, Owen Wilson as Father Kent, Tiffany Haddish as Harriet, and Danny DeVito as Bruce Davis, along with special appearances by Jared Leto as Crump and Oscar winning scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis as Madame Leota.
