Harrisburg is an American city and the capital of the US state of Pennsylvania. Parts of the 1978 zombie film Dawn of the Dead takes place in Harrisburg. In the film, zombie plague survivors Stephen, Francine and Roger take a helicopter with the intent of flying to Pittsburgh. The helicopter gets about as far as Harrisburg, Pennsylvania when they have to touch down to refuel. Zombies are wandering all over the town and the local residents take great pleasure in blowing them apart with their buckshot rifles.
Director Kimberly Peirce, who directed the 2013 remake of Stephen King's Carrie was born in Harrisburg on September 8th, 1967.
