Description[edit | edit source]
The Hammond Foundling Home is an orphanage located in the state of New York. In 1947 an individual, whose identity is still unknown, took their infant daughter Victoria Winters and left her in the care of the orphanage. Pinned to her bassonet was a note which read, "Her name is Victoria Winters. I cannot take care of her".
Victoria grew up in the foundling home and as an adult, accepted a position as one of it's teachers. She worked for an administrator named Mrs. Hopewell. Her best friend was a young woman named Sandy.
In 1966, Victoria received an offer to work as a governess to a ten-year-old boy named David Collins who lived at the family's mansion estate Collinwood in Collinsport, Maine. Convinced that this job might hold the key towards unlocking the secrets of her birth, Victoria accepted the job and left New York. (DS 1)
