Hack/Slash is an American independent creator-owned comic book franchise of the action and horror genres, with an emphasis on the "Bad Girl" sub-genre. It was created by writer & artist Tim Seeley and artist Stefano Caselli. The series stars Cassandra "Cassie" Hack as a monster hunter vigilante who fights against various undead antagonist dubbed "Slashers". Helping Cassie in her crusade is her deformed brute side-kick, Vlad, who wears a gas mask and is always ready to help out with a bone-crushing fist, or a fatal strike from his giant knife. The Hack/Slash franchise was born in Hack/Slash: Euthanized one-shot comic book special, released in April, 2004. Early stories were published by Devil's Due Publishing with later stories printed by Image Comics.
Cassie Hack is the lone survivor of an attack by a Slasher called The Lunch Lady... a Slasher that happens to be her mother! Now, she travels the world with her monstrous partner, Vlad, hunting down and destroying Slasher wherever she finds them!
