The Ghoul is a British horror film of the undead flesh-eater subgenre. It was directed by Freddie Francis in one of his final works in the horror genre with a screenplay by Anthony Hinds (under the pseudonym John Elder). The movie was produced by Tyburn Film Productions Limited and premiered in the United Kingdom in May of 1975.

- Screenplay writer Anthony Hinds is credited as John Elder in this movie. This was a pseudonym that Hinds used in at least eight different movies. This was his final work on a feature film, though he would later go on to pen the "Visitor from the Grave" episode of Hammer House of Horror in 1980.
