Biography[]
Gene Griggs was a Caucasian male and a drug addict who lived in New Orleans, Louisiana. Griggs startled Donna Garth one day and stole her handbag. He ran off and found shelter inside of an abandoned building. Griggs was disgruntled to find that Donna only had three dollars in her purse, but he felt that he might be able to sell a strange medallion that he found in the bag as well. He also found a small .38 handgun and shoved it into his pocket.
Later that evening, Griggs stalked the French Quarter of New Orleans and accosted two pedestrians. He shot them both, but one of them, a woman, was still alive. Griggs attempted to steal her necklace, but she scratched at his face. He finished her off by shooting her directly in the face.
As Griggs turned around, he saw Simon Garth - the Zombie standing before him. He had no idea that the Zombie was attracted by the presence of the talisman and Griggs tried to stab him to death. When this failed, he tried to shoot him, but the Zombie grabbed Griggs' wrist and turned the gun back on him. A shot went off and Griggs fell over dead. The Zombie began shuffling away, leaving the Amulet of Damballah lying on the ground next to Griggs' body.
