Garden shears are a two-handed tool used for cutting plants and general pruning. Think of them as really big scissors. Due to the sharpness of the blades, they also make ideal, if albeit uncommon, murder weapons.
In the 1950s, a demented psychopathic clown named Twisty used garden shears as his preferred murder weapon of choice (along with a bowling pin). He beheaded a novelty store clerk with them and also stabbed an employee through the throat with them.
In Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, psycho-killer Roy Burns used a pair to gouge out the eyes of a buxom young woman named Tina.
