"--In Search of the Last Frankenstein!"[]
In Ingolstadt, a soldier jails a local horse thief, but is surprised the following morning when the prisoner appears to be missing. He reports it to his superior, Colonel Blackstone, who tells him that he will investigate the matter personally. The leftenant remarks that this is the tenth such disappearance of a prisoner, and ponders whether it might have something to do with nearby Castle Frankenstein.
Meanwhile, the Monster has returned to the area in search of the Last Frankenstein. He comes upon a soldier on a horse who instantly reacts to the creature's appearance and attacks him. The Monster knocks him out with a powerful blow from his fist.
The Monster arrives at the castle and finds a horde of disfigured mutants carrying a body and pitching it into a deep pit. At the bottom of the pit is a giant spider that feeds on the souls of those sent to its domain.
The current steward of the castle is none other than Colonel Blackstone himself. It is he who has been abducing local criminals and bringing them to the castle to be fed to the spider. The Colonel orders his mutants to attack the Monster, and the creature is overwhelmed and ultimately captured. When he comes to, he finds himself chained to a wall. The Monster mistakenly believes that the helmeted solider is the last member of the Frankenstein lineage.
The leftenant, who has been investigating the disappearances on his own, enters the castle and makes his way to the dungeon where he finds the Monster in chains. At first, he believes that the Monster is responsible for all of this, until Colonel Blackstone enters the dungeon. Now realizing that his own superior officer is the true villain, the leftenant takes up swords against him.
While the two clash, well water rises in the pit, allowing the giant spider to crawl out. Increasing water pressure from a nearby river smashes into the castle walls, which dislodges the monster from his chains. The deluge tears through the castle, casting everything under water. The Colonel drowns while the Frankenstein Monster fights the giant spider. He manages to defeat it by smashing its body against some rocks, but the water than washes him away down stream. He emerges on a hillside some distance away and looks up to see that the castle has been largely destroyed.
