Firestarter is an American feature film of the paranormal thriller subgenre of horror. It is based on the novel of the same name, which was first adapted as the feature film Firestarter by Mark L. Lester in 1984. It was produced by Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures. It premiered in the United States on May 13th, 2022 and was simultaneously made available on the Peackock streaming service. The film was directed by Keith Thomas with a screenplay written by Scott Teems. It stars Ryan Kiera Armstrong in the lead role of Charlie McGee with Zac Efron as father Andy McGee, Sydney Lemmon as mother Vicky McGee and Michael Greyeyes as John Rainbird.
