The First Power is a 1990 Satanic thriller written and directed by Robert Resnikoff. Produced by Interscope Communications and Nelson Entertainment, it was released theatrically in the United States on April 6th, 1990. The film stars Lou Diamond Phillips in his first horror feature as Los Angeles police detective Russell Logan. Logan is on the trail of notorious serial killer Patrick Channing, aka, the Pentagram Killer. He is assisted by a psychic named Tess Seaton. Although Logan proves successful in capturing Channing, the horror doesn't truly begin until after his execution. Invoking the first power, Channing comes back from the dead with supernatural abilities and seeks vengeance against the cop responsible for originally stopping him.
