Phenomena is an Italian/American horror film written and directed by famed giallo master Dario Argento. It was produced by DACFILM Rome and released theatrically in Italy on January 31st, 1985. An English-dubbed version was produced by New Line Cinema and released under the title Creepers on August 2nd, 1985. The film stars Jennifer Connelly as Jennifer Corvino, a telepathic somnambulist who has a deep interest in insects. Jennifer attends the Swiss Richard Wagner Academy for Girls where she witnesses a traumatic murder and earns the interest of entomologist John McGregor (Donald Pleasence). Together they discover that the recent murders are rooted in the dark history of the school itself.

Phenomena was released on VHS by Anchor Bay Entertainment/Starz Entertainment on February 16th, 1999. It was released on DVD (all regions) on March 16th, 1999. Special features on the disc include a behind-the-scenes featurette, interviews/commentaries with director Dario Argento and special effects/makeup artist Sergio Stivaletti and a music video by composer Claudio Simonetti. Anchor Bay later repackaged the film along with Inferno as part of a twin-pack gift set on July 10th, 2001. It was re-released under the title Creepers on July 18th, 2001. Special features include an interview with Dario Argento. The Special Edition DVD of the film was released by Anchor Bay on May 27th, 2008.
