Mirrors is an American horror film of the supernatural thriller subgenre. It was directed by Alexandre Aja and co-written between Aja and his partner, Grégory Levasseur. It was produced and distributed in the North American market by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation and released theatrically on August 15th, 2008. The film stars Kiefer Sutherland as Ben Carson, a former detective for the New York City police department and recovering alcoholic who takes a position as a night watchman for the Mayflower Department Store, replacing the former night watchman who apparently went insane due to an inexplicible obsession with mirrors. Carson soon comes to find that there is truth to the stories about the bizarre haunted department store as he is plagued by the images he sees in the store mirrors, which terrorize him until they get what they want.
