Marvel Classics Comics was an ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics. It was released on an irregular publishing schedule between 1976 to 1978 and spanned a total of thirty-six issues. The series adapted famous literary works, that were brought to new life in comic strip format. Of the thirty-six issues, six were adapted from famous horror stories. Issue #1 adapted Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. Issue #3 adapted The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo. Issue #9 adapted Dracula by Bram Stoker. Issue #20 adapted Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley. Issue #25 adapted The Invisible Man by H. G. Wells and issue #28 adapted The Pit and the Pendulum by Edgar Allan Poe.
