Plot[]
Welcome to Fantasy Island - where all of your fantasies come true! Managed by the polite, yet enigmatically omniscient Mister Roarke, this mysterious tropical paradise has the power to grant one their fondest desires. There are only two rules on Fantasy Island. 1: Only one fantasy per guest. 2: You must see the fantasy through to the end. Fantasies don't always turn out the way one expects them, but they always turn out they way they are supposed to.
Several seemingly unrelated individuals arrive by plane on Fantasy Island - each one harboring a distinctive fantasy they wish to see fulfilled. Gwen Olsen is filled with regret and wants a "do-over" concerning as past event. J.D. Weaver and his Asian brother Brax are two literally dude-bros who "want it all". Patrick Sullivan wants to become a soldier to honor the memory of his dead father who died heroically when he was a child. Melanie Cole wants revenge against a girl who made her a social pariah in high school.
There are others on the island in addition to Mister Roarke and his guests however. There is Julia, who is Mister Roarke's assistant, who appears to harbor some health issues. There is Damon, who is a private investigator who came to the island to expose Roarke and the twisted nature of the island's supernatural powers. Lastly, there is Sloane Maddison, who was abducted from her home and brought to the island where she is being tortured by a sadistic surgeon appropriately named "Dr. Torture".

Notes & Trivia[]
- Fantasy Island is a dark interpretation of the 1977 television series Fantasy Island, which aired on ABC for seven seasons from 1977 to 1984. The television series was remade in 1998, and aired for one season consisting of thirteen episodes on ABC. The remake series had a darker undercurrent than the original series, and is more in-line with the tone of the feature film than the original show. Actor Malcolm McDowell played the role of Mister Roarke on the remake series.

- Former professional wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista was originally cast to play a role in the film, but dropped out of production.
