The Edge of Intrados is a fictional item featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is associated with the Midnight Sons line of titles and first appeared in Nightstalkers #11 in September, 1993.
History[]
The Edge of Intrados is a gold-handled dagger with mystical properties. According the legend, the mystical properties of the dagger granted self-awareness to its user and possessed the ability to heighten and intensify one's perceptions, granting them increased insight, the ability to recall trace memories and even visions.
Modern-era enthusiasts discount the blade's mystical properties, believing that, through an undetermined process, the item was infused with hallucinogens that would get into the bloodstream of whoever wielded it to evoke visionary insight. Whatever it's origins, the Edge of Intrados is a powerful if sometimes unpredictable instrument. It causes the wielder to not only recall dramatic events from their past, but forces them to relive their most intense memories.
Blade once possessed the weapon and was made to relive birth memories, wherein his mother was murdered and turned into a vampire while Blade was still in the womb. [1]
