Dr. Phibes Rises Again is a British horror film of the psychological thriller subgenre. It was written and directed by Robert Fuest and co-written by Robert Blees. It is a sequel to the 1971 cult classic The Abominable Dr. Phibes. The film was produced by American International and released theatrically in July, 1972. Actor Vincent Price returns as everyone's favorite undead madman Doctor Anton Phibes. This time, he is accompanied by Robert Quarry in the role of Darrus Biederbeck, Peter Cushing in the role of the Captain, and Beryl Reid as Miss Ambrose. The part of Vulnavia, played by Virginia North in the first film is now played by Valli Kemp. Peter Jeffrey, also from the first film, returns in the role Inspector Trout.
