Dorian Gray is a British feature film of the supernatural thriller and dark fantasy subgenres of horror. It is based on the Oscar Wilde novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, published in 1890 in Lippincott's Monthly Magazine. The movie was directed by Oliver Parker with a script written by Toby Finlay. It was presented by Alliance Films, Ealing Studios and the UK Film Council and produced by the Moving Picture Company and Fragile Films in association with Aramid Entertainment and Hindsight Media. It premiered in London, England on September 7th, 2009. It opened to wide release in the United Kingdom on September 9th, 2009. The movie was released direct-to-video in the United States on August 24th, 2010.
