Donald "Don" Houghton was a film screenwriter, producer and associate producer. He was born in Paris, France on February 2nd, 1930. In the horror genre, Don Houghton is best known for his work on the Hammer Film Productions Dracula series, and was a writer on three films from that line.

Don's first horror work for Hammer was the 1972 film Dracula A.D. 1972, in which he was the screenwriter on the movie. He followed this up with its immediate sequel, The Satanic Rites of Dracula in 1973. Don was also an associate producer on this film. In 1974, he worked on his last movie for Hammer, Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires, in which he was credited as screenwriter and producer.

Don Hougton passed away on July 2nd, 1991 at the age of 61.
