The Devil Inside is an American horror film of the demonic possession subgenre. It was directed by William Brent Bell and written by Bell and Matthew Peterman. It was produced by Paramount Insurge - a division of Paramount Pictures and released theatrically in the United States on January 6th, 2012. The film stars Fernanda Andrade, Simon Quarterman, Evan Helmuth, Ionut Grama, Suzan Crowley, Bonnie Morgan, Brian Johnson, Preston James Hiller and D.T. Carney.

  • The Devil Inside is also the name of a 1963 crime thriller directed by Cliff Owen. It has also been released under the title Offbeat.
  • Not to be confused with the 2011 Chinese horror movie The Devil Inside Me by Zhang Qi.
  • The Devil Inside is the first theatrically released horror film of 2012. It was filmed primarily in Bucharest, Romania with some scenes being shot on location at the Vatican in Rome, Italy.
  • The Devil Inside closed out of theaters on March 22nd, 2012. It was released to DVD by Paramount Pictures on May 15th, 2012.
  • This is the second film directed by William Brent Bell. Bell made his directorial debut with the 2006 movie Stay Alive, which involved the ghost of infamous blood countess Elizabeth Bathory stalking fresh victims via a popular video game called Stay Alive. The Devil Inside screenwriter and co-producer Matthew Peterman also worked on the film.
  • The home video filming style of The Devil Inside is similar to that of movies such as The Blair Witch Project, Quarantine and the Paranormal Activity film series.
  • This is the first major film role for lead actress Fernanda Andrade. Prior to this movie, she mostly worked in television.
  • Actor Brian Johnson, who plays Lieutenant Dreyfus, is not to be confused with Brian Johnson, the lead singer of the rock and roll band AC/DC.
