The Descent is a British feature film of the "creature feature" subgenre of horror. It was written and directed by Neil Marshall. It was produced by Celador Films and premiered at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival in Belgium on March 11th, 2005. It premiered in the United Kingdom at the Dead by Dawn Horror Film Festival on July 6th, 2005, with a theatrical release on July 8th, 2005. Its first U.S. release was at the Sundance Film Festival in January, 2006.
