- Production on Dead & Buried began on October 23rd, 1980. Principal photography concluded in December, 1980.
- Dead & Buried was released to DVD with a limited numbered edition of only 50,000 copies by Blue Underground on July 29th, 2003. The standard edition was released on October 25th, 2005.
- Second film directed by Gary Sherman. He also directed the 1973 horror movie Raw Meat. He will go on to direct, write and produce episodes of the Poltergeist: The Legacy TV series as well as the Poltergeist III feature film.
- Features an early appearance by actor Robert Englund. Englund will go on to become a horror movie icon for his portrayal of wisecracking dream stalker Freddy Krueger in the A Nightmare on Elm Street film series.
- Final film for actor Jack Albertson. Albertson passed away on November 25th, 1981. Jack was best known for playing the role of Ed Brown on Chico and the Man and Grandpa Joe in 1971's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
- Second and final horror film role for actor James Farentino. He also played the lead role of Kevin Leahy in the 1977 television movie The Possessed where he co-starred with actor Harrison Ford.
