A séance has been held in the great house of Collinwood, a seance which has suspended time and space and sent one girl on an uncertain and frightening journey into the past, back to the year 1795 where she finds herself labeled a witch, and forced to endure a trial which would only have one verdict. For one person who could have saved her was unable to make himself known and must settle for revenge on her prosecutor.

Episode 439 is an untitled episode of the daytime Gothic soap opera series Dark Shadows. It was directed by Lela Swift and written by Sam Hall. It was produced by Robert Costello and first aired on ABC on Thursday, February 29th, 1968. In this episode, Barnabas Collins plots his revenge against Reverend Trask. Ben Stokes wants no part of it, but Barnabas leaves him little choice but to cooperate. Ben goes to The Eagle where he meets a woman named Maude Browning. Later, Maude has a chance encounter with Barnabas outside the pub. Nathan Forbes finds Barnabas' wolf's-head cane and realizes that he is back in Collinsport.
