Cy-Gor is a comic book about a cybernetic killer gorilla. Seriously. The magic of such a concept is that it is a multi-genre concept, balancing between science fiction, horror, and comedy. Yes, comedy. While it may not read as much of a humorous title, the concept of a cybernetic killer gorilla automatically invites imagery of great jest. Cy-Gor is a spin-off of Spawn with the titular serial apist having knuckle-dragged his way into comic book stardom back in Spawn #38 in December, 1995. This comic book series ran for six issues from July to December, 1999.
The stories were written by Rick Veitch with artwork by Joel Thomas, who also provided the ink embellishment. It was colored by the team of Todd Broeker, Jay Fotos, and Drew Hutchinson, with lettering by Richard Starkings and Wes Abbott of Comicraft. The series was edited by Melanie Simmons.
