  • The title of this episode is taken from The Right Stuff, which is an American 1983 historical drama film written for the screen and directed by Philip Kaufman. It is based on the 1979 book of the same name by Tom Wolfe.
  • The name Ann Poole might be a wink to the character of Frank Poole, who appeared in the 1968 sci-fi epic 2001: A Space Odyssey. Actor Gary Lockwood played the role of Frank Poole in the film. In this episode, Ted's last name is Lockwood.
  • One of the computer monitor stations has the letters "KNB" prominently displayed upon it. KNB FX is a special effects company, co-founded by Greg Nicotero, who is an executive producer on Creepshow. KNB is most widely known for their work on the A Nightmare on Elm Street film franchise. Actor Breckin Meyer played a character named Spencer in the 1991 film Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare.
