The Commonwealth is a fictional government and survival group featured in the Walking Dead comic book series published by Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment. They were first presented as armored soldiers in The Walking Dead #175 in January, 2018. The Commonwealth has also made appearances in season eleven of the Walking Dead television series. Traces of the Commonwealth actually trail back to the season ten episode, "Bonds", with the inclusion of citizen Max Mercer as a voice on the other end of a radio.
