Cocaine Bear is an American feature film of the predatory animal and comedy subgenres of horror. It was directed by Elizabeth Banks with a screenplay written by Jimmy Warden. It was produced by Universal Pictures, Brownstone Productions, and Lord Miller and premiered theatrically in the United States on February 24th, 2023. Cocaine Bear is very extremely loosely inspired by actual events about a drug smuggler who drops several duffel bags of cocaine from an airplane over Georgia in 1985 where it is discovered and consumed by a black bear. While the actual bear died almost immediately, the Cocaine Bear goes on a mad drug-induced hyper-frenzy, massacring whosoever makes the ill-conceived attempt to come between he and several kilos of Columbian bam-bam.
