The Circus of Crime is, as its name suggests, a traveling circus made up of various criminals. They go from town to town under the premise of being a legitimate circus attraction, but they use their varied talents to commit crimes. The leader of the Circus is a man named Maynard Tiboldt - the Ringmaster, whose influence is the guiding tool of the group due to his hypnotic top hat.

History[]

Following numerous confrontations between themselves and colorful super-heroes such as Spider-Man and the Hulk, the Circus of Crime also found themselves engaged in a war with members of the Quentin Carnival. Unfortunately for them, one of the carnival's members was motorcycle stunt rider Johnny Blaze, who could call upon the demonic power of the Ghost Rider. At the conclusion of this altercation, the Quentin Carnival recruited Eliot Franklin - the clown of the Circus of Crime, and reunited him with his father, Corky Franklin, who was the clown who performed for the Quentin Carnival.
