A company has developed robotic smart technology for use in military applications. Seeing commercial value in the product, they restricted the programming so that they can create the most highly advanced animatronic Santa Claus for use in retail outlets. What could wrong, right?

Meanwhile in California, it is Christmas Eve, and a vintage record store owner named Tori Tooms wants for nothing more than to spend the night drinking, partying and having random indiscriminate sex. Unfortunately, Tori's aggressive personality makes it challenging to find a man that can keep up with her. As she brazenly states to her employee Robbie Reynolds, she can "out-drink, out-smoke and out-fuck" any man that she comes across.

Tori and Robbie visit their friends Jay and Lahna who manage a nearby toy store. This is one of the stores that utilizes one of the new Santa robots. After the store closes, Tori and Robbie out to a bar, leaving Jay and Lahna alone to have wild sex in the toy store. They are unaware that a factory recall has been issued for the Santa Claus robot, which is known for reverting back to its more violent militaristic applications. The robot activates and takes up an axe and murders Jay and Lahna.

At the bar, Tori and Robbie continue to down shots until closing time and have an encounter with an inebriated sheriff named Monroe. Afterward, Tori has Robbie drive her back to her sister's house in his extremely unreliable vehicle. You see where this is going, right? They smoke marijuana, drink even more alcohol and ultimately have wild sex with one another.

The insane Santa robot stalks through the streets until it reaches Tori's neighbors. It breaks into the house and murders a man and his wife. Their son recognizes "Santa" and races down to the Christmas tree to open his presents. Santa brings his axe down, killing the child as well.

Across the street, Tori happens to witness this brutal act and goes to awaken her sister Liddy and Liddy's husband, Mike. The homeowners do not understand why Tori is acting so frantic until Santa breaks into the house and kills Liddy and Mike.

Tori and Robbie race out to Robbie's car, but have trouble getting it started. Remember what I said earlier? Even when they do get it started, Robbie has trouble navigating out of a snow bank and crashes into a classic car owned by a neighbor named Benny Barnes. Benny runs outside and begins swearing at the two, at which point Santa comes up behind him and kills him. He then smashes the window on Robbie's car and kills him as well.

A police car driven by Officer Davies arrives and a blood-soaked and frantic Tori warns him about Santa. Santa kills Officer Davies, but Tori manages to escape. She eventually happens upon another police officer named Smith and tries to explain what has happened. Smith, suspecting that Tori is the true perpetrator of these crimes, arrests her and brings her to the police station.

Santa Claus comes to the police station and Tori, Officer Smith, and Sheriff Monroe try to defend themselves. Santa kills the police officer and continues to chase after Tori. She goes back to her record shop, but Santa is right behind her. Santa chops off several of Tori's fingers with his axe, and she scrambles away. Escaping outside, Tori tears off a sleeve of her shirt and shoves it into the gas tank of a vehicle. As Santa approaches her position, she lights the cloth on fire. When the flame reaches the gas, it causes the vehicle to explode, destroying the Santa robot.
