Points of Interest[]

Carlton State Hospital
In December, 1989, a woman named Karen Barclay was remanded to the care of the Carlton State Hospital, claiming that a possessed Good Guys doll had tried to murder her and her son, Andy. Andy had been sent to a child crisis center, and later placed in foster care. One of Carlton's staff members was Doctor Curry, who was a parapsychologist who actually believed Karen's story.
Carson Pirie Scott & Co
Carson Pirie Scott & Co. is a department store with an outlet located in Chicago, Illinois. Karen Barclay and Maggie Peterson both worked there under the leadership of their boss, Mister Criswell. Maggie pointed out the Good Guy doll to Karen, who purchased it for her son, Andy's birthday. It was all downhill from there.
Independent News Service
The Independent News Service (INS) is a wire service media agency based out of Chicago, Illinois. Though considered a reputable news outlet, the INS also had a proclivity towards publishing stories of a more sensationalistic flare, much to the frustration of editor Tony Vincenzo. One of INS' more colorful reporters was Carl Kolchak. While investigating a string of murders in Las Vegas, Nevada, Kolchak determined that the killer was a man who believed himself to be a vampire. With the help of a friend from the FBI, Kolchak's suspicions were confirmed as he confronted the serial killer Janos Skorzeny. However, the INS did not believe Kolchak's assertion that there were really such things as vampires and he was fired from his job. Tony Vincenzo hired Kolchak back less than a year later and Kolchak was armed with a new understanding of the dark underpinnings of the world. While continuing to cover stories for INS, Carl Kolchak found himself involved in mysteries that pitted him against vampires, werewolves, zombies, witches and even a sewer monster.
Jimmy Wong's Cantonese Food
Jimmy Wong's Cantonese Food was a business located on Wabash Avenue in the downtown district of Chicago, Illinois. In November of 1988, Chicago police detective Mike Norris pursued wanted serial killer Charles Lee Ray - the infamous "Lakeshore Strangler", and his accomplice, Eddie Caputo, down Wabash Avenue. Detective Norris managed to shoot Ray in the leg as he crossed the street, right in front of Jimmy Wong's Cantonese Food.
Playland Toys
Playland Toys was a toy store located on Wabash Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. In November of 1988, Chicago police detective Mike Norris pursued serial killer Charles Lee Ray into Playland Toys. The two ran throughout the various aisles, but ultimately Norris was able to land a shot to Charles' chest. The wound was fatal, and Charles only had moments to live. Desperate to survive, he used his knowledge of voodoo to invoke the power of Damballa in order to transpose his soul into a Good Guys doll. After reciting the incanation, dark storm clouds appeared over the store, and a massive lighting bolt struck down, blasting out all of the windows. Norris survived, but Charles Lee Ray was dead. Or was he? As it turned out, the ritual proved to be a success and the soul of Charles Lee Ray now resided within a doll named Chucky.
Play Pals factory
This could be ascribed to any number of factories owned and operated by the Play Pals Corporation for the manufacturing of toy products; most notably, the Good Guys doll. Each doll produced by Play Pals was assigned its own name, recorded on its voice player, but the most infamous of which is "Chucky". The Chucky doll was possessed by the soul of deceased serial killer Charles Lee Ray, who ran amok in the Lakeshore neighborhood of Chicago.
Wabash Avenue
Wabash Avenue is a street located in Chicago, Illinois. It ran through the downtown district of the city and included many different shops and other businesses. In November, 1988, Chicago police detective Mike Norris pursued wanted serial killer Charles Lee Ray - the infamous "Lakeshore Strangler", and his accomplice, Eddie Caputo, down Wabash Avenue. While Charles evaded the police on-foot, Eddie was in a getaway car, and left Charles high and dry. Detective Norris managed to shoot Ray in the leg as he crossed the street, and Charles limped into the Playland Toys shop. Although Mike Norris managed to finish Charles Lee Ray off inside the store, it was not the end of the Lakeshore Strangler. Using voodoo, Charles Lee Ray transposed his soul into a Good Guys doll and became known as "Chucky".
Western Springs
Western Springs is a suburban village located in the city of Chicago in the U.S. state of Illinois. A wealthy suburb of Chicago, it was founded in 1886 and named after a natural spring in the area that was believed to have healing powers that once belonged to the Pottawatomie tribe. Bobby Stark told reporter Tawny Richards that he hailed from Western Springs, Illinois. He made it a point to indicate that his town was the home of the Western Springs Wildcats, presumably a sports team of some renown.
