1817 is the eighteenth year of the 19th century and the eighth year of the 1810s decade. It follows 1816 and precedes 1818. In the continuity of the [[Wrong Turn film series|Wrong Turn film series, the entire population of the town of Fairlake mysteriously disappeared in 1817. To this day, nobody knows what happened to them. One theory is that clans of cannibals had a longstanding feud with the hill folk locals. A massacre occurred in which the cannibals slaughtered and presumably consumed all of the residents of Fairlake. (Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines)
