Biography[]

Caspar Quaid was an African American with psychic abilities. It is possible that he was once aligned with a cult led by black magic wielder Nix in the early 1980s. Nix's protégé, Philip Swann defected from the cult, and Caspar became one of his allies. In 1982, Caspar attended Swann on a mission to rescue a pre-teen girl named Dorothea, who had been abducted by the cult. Caspar and the others fought against the cultists and defeated Nix.

By the year 1995, Caspar Quad was living in Los Angeles where he worked as a fortune teller. One of Nix's most devout henchmen, Butterfield, had been tracking Swann and his allies in order to find out where Nix was buried. Along with another follower named Ray Miller, they assaulted Caspar in his shop and tortured him at length, but Quaid revealed nothing.

A New York City police detective named Harry D'Amour happened upon Quaid's shop while investigating another case and came to blows with Ray Miller. Butterfield and Ray Miller fled, but Quaid had only moments left to him. As Harry leaned in towards him, he read his tarot cards and told Harry that he was drawn to darkness. Quaid then succumbed to his injuries. [1]
