Carnosaur is a low-budget sci-fi/horror film directed by Adam Simon and Darren Moloney. Produced by "master of shlock" Roger Corman, it premiered on May 21st, 1993 to limited theatrical release. The movie is based on a novel written by John Brosnan. It was one of many films to latch on to the popularity of Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park even though it was released two weeks prior to Spielberg's dinosaur mega-blockbuster. Carnosaur spawned two direct-to-video sequels from 1995-1996. The plot of the film centers around an evil scientist named Doctor Jane Tiptree who genetically creates a race of dangerous carnosaurs to wipe out humanity and inherit the Earth. She lets her creations loose, which then begin attacking and feeding on a group of animal rights activists.
