The Carlton State Hospital is a fictional mental hospital featured in comic books published by Innovation Comics. It is associated with the Child's Play franchise and first appeared in Child's Play #1 in May, 1991.
History[]
In December, 1989, a woman named Karen Barclay was remanded to the care of the Carlton State Hospital, claiming that a possessed Good Guys doll had tried to murder her and her son, Andy. Andy had been sent to a child crisis center, and later placed in foster care. One of Carlton's staff members was Doctor Curry, who was a parapsychologist who actually believed Karen's story. [2]
