Carlos is a fictional murder victim and a supporting character featured in the Nightmare on Elm Street film series. Played by actor Ricky Dean Logan, he appeared in the 1991 feature film Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare.
Biography[]
Carlos was a young Latino man who lived in Central City, Ohio. Due to a childhood accident, Carlos was rendered deaf in his right ear, and had to wear a hearing aid. As a young man, he became a resident of the Recovery House Youth Shelter.
Shelter administrator Maggie Burroughs sought to bring another resident, an amnesiac referred to as "John Doe", back to his old neighborhood in Springwood. Carlos and two others named Tracy Swan and Spencer stowed away in the van and journeyed with them. Their search for John's roots brought them to the ruins of 1428 Elm Street - the former home of Nancy Thompson, who was the first to ever defeat the demonic dream entity known as Freddy Krueger.
Once inside the house, each of the youths ended up falling asleep at some point. While dreaming, Carlos found himself trapped inside the Springwood power plant boiler room, which was Freddy's territory. Freddy tormented Carlos at length, first by making fun of his inability to hear, and then by worsening the situation by shoving an over-sized Q-tip into his ear. Freddy then reversed Carlos' malady by giving him super-acute hearing, which proved even more harrowing than being deaf. With even the most minute of sounds causing Carlos pain, Freddy increased the torture by raking his metal claws across a chalk board. The sound grew so intense that Carlos' head ultimately exploded.
