"The Body" is the sixteenth episode of season five of the supernatural drama series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the 94th episode of the series overall. It was written and directed by series creator Joss Whedon. It first aired on the WB Network on Tuesday, February 27th, 2001. This is the saddest episode in the entirety of the series as viewers wave good-bye to actress Kristine Sutherland in her final appearance as Joyce Summers.
