Bristol is a city located in South West England. It has an area of 42.5 square miles and a population of approximately 421,300. It is England's sixth, and the United Kingdom's eighth most populous city.
Bristol is the provincial setting of the first two seasons of the British supernatural drama series Being Human. The main characters from the show, John Mitchell, Annie Sawyer and George Sands lived in a flat in Totterdown. John and George worked at St. Jude's Hospital in Bristol as did Nina Pickering. The evil vampire William Herrick was a police captain on the Bristol police force.
Bristol is the birth place of actress Veronica Cartwright, who has appeared in numerous American films including The Birds, Alien, the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Witches of Eastwick and the Eastwick television series.
