In 1996, Thompson played a different sort of monster, this time a vampire on the short-lived Fox Network TV series Kindred: The Embraced. Thompson played the role of vampire gang leader Eddie Fiori in six episodes of the program. The following year, Thompson donned vampire fangs once again for the role of Luke in the first two episodes of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series. Thompson would return to the show for two episodes of season two playing a judge. He also played a character named Cronus in three episodes of the supernatural series Charmed.
