Black Christmas is an American feature film of the psycho-thriller, supernatural thriller and holiday horror subgenres. It is named for the 1974 slasher classic Black Christmas, though has no real connection to the film otherwise aside from taking place during the Christmas season. The movie was directed by Sophia Takal with a screenplay written by Takal and April Wolfe. It was produced by Blumhouse Productions, Divide/Conquer, and distributed through Universal Pictures. It was released internationally on December 11th, 2019 and in the United States and Canada on December 13th, 2012.
